About me
My name is Jeanie Stark, and I am honored and humbled to call myself an educator. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus in Special Education from West Texas A&M University and am highly qualified in Reading, Social Studies, and Mathematics at the elementary, middle, and high school levels.During my 31-year career with Albuquerque Public Schools, I have had the privilege of teaching students in every grade level from Pre-K through 12th grade. Twenty-five of those years were spent serving students in Special Education classrooms, while the past several years have been dedicated to Early Warning Systems and Student Success Systems work. During the 2023–2025 school years, I served as the Albuquerque Public Schools Student Success Systems District Support Teacher. Additionally, I worked as a Student Success Systems Consultant for Albuquerque Public Schools while continuing to serve as the Student Success Systems Resource Teacher at Taylor Middle School.Throughout my career, I have been committed to continuous learning and educational excellence. I was recognized as an Exemplary Educator by the New Mexico Public Education Department from 2015–2018 and was honored to receive the Golden Apple Award for Excellence in Teaching from the Golden Apple Foundation of New Mexico in 2020. I currently serve on the Golden Apple Professional Development Steering Committee. My professional certifications include becoming a Data Wise Leader through Harvard University in 2021, earning certification as an Early Warning Systems/Student Success Systems Coordinator in 2022, and receiving certification as a Student Success Systems Specialist through Johns Hopkins University and Talent Development Secondary in 2024.One of my greatest professional accomplishments has been securing significant grant funding to expand Student Success Systems work throughout Albuquerque Public Schools, including $650,000 during the 2023–2024 school year and $600,000 during the 2024–2025 school year. These funds have helped strengthen systems of support that ensure students receive the resources, interventions, and opportunities they need to thrive. My educational philosophy is simple: Students do not care how much you know until they know how much you care. This belief is at the heart of Student Success Systems and the primary reason I am so passionate about this work. Student Success Systems has the power to change the trajectory of a student’s life by addressing one need at a time, building meaningful relationships, providing support, and helping students recognize their own potential.Student Success Systems is about far more than improving attendance, behavior, and course performance. It is about cultivating agency, belonging, and connectedness so that every student feels valued, supported, and empowered. Through Student Success Systems, students are provided with the tools and opportunities they need to be successful. Our students are our future, their value is immeasurable, and we must always strive to do better. To the students of the world: I believe in you.
