About me
Anna De Herrera is an educator with 23 years of experience serving as an elementary teacher, UNM cooperating teacher, reading interventionist, and instructional coach. She currently holds an administrative license in New Mexico and is passionate about creating inclusive learning environments where every student and staff member feels valued, supported, and empowered to succeed.
Anna believes that students are at the center of the educational experience and that strong classroom communities foster both academic achievement and social-emotional growth. Her work focuses on building student voice, ownership, and engagement while helping children develop the confidence and skills needed to thrive.
In her presentation, What If Classroom Culture Became Your Strongest Instructional Strategy?, Anna shares practical ways to intentionally teach Skills, Habits, and Mindsets alongside academic content through Community Building Circles. Participants will explore strategies that strengthen relationships, increase student accountability, and create classroom cultures where students flourish both academically and socially.
